I had a evil rooster (barred rock) that I brought to a farm where they were eventually planning on eatting him until 2 days ago my mother gets a phone call saying

" yeah we never got to eat him, The other rooster beat the living tar out of him.... So after awhile of him getting beat up, we moved him out of the barn, and 2 hours later he disappeared."

They think he went to the edge of the woods line and something got a hold of him, Uhh I fee so bad for him poor baby. I mean he was mean in all but I did not want him to go in pain of getting beat up...

It is often difficult to deal with death the first few times. Chickens are like most birds and can be rather fragile. Chickens are also fairly low on the food chain. So think of it as that your rooster gave a very hungry animal a good meal. The animal that got the meal may have not eaten anything for many days and would have gone even longer without that meal. The humans that would have eaten the roo at some point, have never been that hungry.

If it helps you at all, know the end came quickly, and he no longer has to be dominated and beat by the other rooster. and some animal got to have a meal which otherwise may have gone hungry for who knows how long.
