I performed my first chicken surgery last night. My hen had an impacted crop and after trying the fasting and oil bit for several days I decided she was not getting any better. With the help of a really good friend I managed the surgery. The info I gained here from other post showed me the way. Now my question is how long do I keep her isolated and eating soft foods. I have given her scrambled eggs, cooked grits(this is the south), and banana mixed with lots of water. She is finally pooping something close to normal and is acting just fine. thanks.
