Creating a red LF Cochin has been my project for quite some time. But I think I've hit a road block! My original cross was Buff x Partridge. I've gotten to the point of a color that could be described as "orange Columbian" . Unfortunately I can't seem to get rid of the smut , mostly in the wings and of course in the tails. I've included pics from a couple of years ago, (they haven't improved much since) Is there a way to drop the Columbian pattern and just have a solid red? There seem to be a few genetic experts here lately, so I thought I'd throw this out and see what you all thought... Any advice would be appreciated!
