In Indiana and needs some help

Has anyone gone from zero support from their City Council, to legalizing hens? From my communications with them, it seems like they don't want to listen. They think chickens are noisy, stinky animals that will attract predators from every corner of the county. I am afraid that all the research in the world, a petition, and a million testimonies won't change their minds. Anyone have words of encouragement or advice?

Where in Indiana are you? I just sent a 3 page letter discussing the positives and mostly unfounded negatives of backyard chickens. I'm not sure where my town council sits on the issue. I also have a council meeting to go to in a couple weeks. I'll let you know if anything happens with it. I hope it does!

Bloomington went from banning them to allowing them the details are here on BYC what is required.
