In a natural farm-type setting, for people who own or have owned multiple chickens of pure breeds...Who was actually your most frequent layer? I know what research and the hatcheries say. Just curious outside of that, and excluding the sexlinks/hybrids.

Winning combo for me is Ameraucanas (even better in hotter weather) & Black Australorps (even better in winter); they both lay all thru the year & the Black Australorps out produce overall. Trying some Speckled Sussex this year also. Year around eggs!:D
