Incubated for 2 days then thermostat went out, any survivors?

I fired up the incubator and let it run for a couple of days to make sure it would hold at temp. Then, set the eggs and everything went fine for about a day and half. I had just turned the eggs, went out to do some yard work, and when I came back in, the temp was 116. I haven't thrown the eggs out yet. I have parts on order for the bator but they won't be here for 4 days, thanks to no shipping on the weekend. Could these eggs possibly go back to dormant since they weren't in there that long? Would I have just killed them all even though the temp was only up for maybe an hour? What do you think ...are they salvageable...or would it be an "all rooster hatch" at best?

No sorry they will not go dormant. Temp. of 116 thats a killer, if you could keep them incubating you could check them in 7 days,

Ok, the reason I am asking is because I have read that sometimes egg shippers will incubate the eggs for one day, then ship. And, that actually improves survivability. Does anyone do that before shipping eggs? I know I am grasping at straws here. I just hate having to throw out another 200 eggs.

they are cooked at that temp, candle and if you see blobs of darkness in your eggs then those are the cooked parts and should be thrown away.

They are not neccessarily damaged. It's according to how long the temperature was that hi. Candle them and see if they look cooked if not put them on a heating pad and turn them until your parts arrive and see what happens.

200 eggs!?... ouch!!.. Hope you don't lose them... I would get your temp correct and check in 7 days........

Shipped eggs need store in cool area , an incubating before shipping would destroy the eggs.

If you could keep the eggs near the 99 range you may save a few.
