Hi! welcome chbond!!! are you incubating now?
I Am currently incubating Splash Blue laced red Wyandotte. This is the first time I have tried to incubate in a long time.
I see you've been busy this morning! Imagine that!
You're likely to see me lurking quite often.
I would love to see you do more than lurk, I love reading your posts Ken! I wish I could have stuck around on the other thread but, well um, you know let just say, the HAL kept me busy
oh great! welcome back to incubating and what a beautiful choice to incubate! What incubator are you using? I still have our bunch of styro bators, but I wont use them unless all of our coolers, upright and regular are filled to capacity! hmmm and I may not even then, I would probably throw another cooler together first! thats how much I hate styros! isnt that horrible! I shouldnt cut them all down, just the kind that I have, farm innovators. eeeekkkkk the temp controls are horrible to control.
lol. I'm Actually using a styro incubator. I'm Interested in upgrading though. I've done well using it previously.
a lot of people do well with them! which styro are you using? during the halloween hatchalong one of my kids left the bator open DURING LOCKDOWN and believe it or not the temps were still spot on in the coolerbator with the wafer thermostat running the two light bulbs. And then stupid me when I checked them to see if they were ok, (when I candle I twist the lights off inside the bator to candle, well at lockdown) I forgot to twist the lights back on, so I think about 5-7 hours or so no heat in the bator during lockdown! but we still had a terrific hatch, we had 22 eggs go in lockdown and 20 chicks come out. I was simply amazed and thankful
I was really not of mind during this past hatch trust me
are you hatching your own eggs or shipped?
