So I am on incubation day 21 and day 15 with my Rouen x Blue Swedish duck eggs. I tried to candle my day 21 egg yesterday (holding it up to a bright light) and had a hard time seeing what is going on.
The egg appears to have:
-visible veining (much harder to see now than before)
-an air pocket at the top of the egg looks fine(compared to the "standard"
-something seems to be in there even though the egg seems to be only "half full" still fairly liquidy..seems like there is something solid in there though
-it is not smelly
-I cant hear any sounds or see and vibrations
-I couldn't see any movement when candling
The day 15 egg when held up to the light I could see the little duck moving inside, in terms of development it is on par with the older one when it was the same age.
So my Q is does this sound okay? Is there anything I should or shouldn't be seeing? I will admit that my homemade incubator does have a bit of fluctuating temps (as in drop a bit overnight) so would that possibly slow things down a bit? I do hand turn them throughout the day and make sure they are happy but there is not much else I can do.
Any tips or advice? I have done quite a bit of e-search but can't seem to see much info on this situation.
Thanks
