Incubation ~ Time form when laid or when incubation started?

    Ok I have some quail eggs in the incubator and dont know when to expect pipping.. Do I count from when they were laid or when I put them in the incubator.. These were shipped to me so they were not put in the bator right away. I would think it is when the actual incubation started but wanted to make sure.
