I made a incubator like the ones on this site with a lamp and a water heater thermostat. So far it has had a range of 10 degrees. Does anyone have ideas of how to fix this? Thanks

Move the thermostat closer to the lightbulb.

I was having the same problem with mine. I found on YouTube how to modify a water heater thermostat and now mine stays within about a degree. All u do is drill a few small holes in the thermostat so the heat can get to the wafer quicker. Bit pull it up on YouTube. Good luck!
