Hi, my name is Bryson and I am going to start my flock in the spring. I just wanted to say hi and if you have any suggestions and/or comments please tell me! Thanks!
Hey there, welcome to BYC!!!!! What part of the state are you checking in from? Have you decided on a coop design, breed choices, etc? You may want to mosey on over to this thread https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/730582/indiana-bycers-here - great bunch of folks!
Welcome to Backyard chickens. The Indiana chickeners can certainly fill you in on what breeds do best in the climate, what predators to watch out for etc. Check out the coops section on BYC, and the predator threads. Things go so much better when you are prepared and not just 'winging it.'
whoops, forgot to mention the Learning Center is jam packed with information. It can answer questions you don't even know you have yet. No joke, it's the best place to start a poultry education.
Welcome to BYC, Bryson. Glad you decided to join our flock. X2 on drumstick diva; if you haven't done so already, definitely check out our Learning Center at https://www.backyardchickens.com/atype/1/Learning_Center. There is lots of useful information there. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Cheers.
Welcome, glad you have joined us. Good luck with your planning. In addition to the exploring the Learning Center and Coops section, the advice I wish I had listened to is to build your coop and run larger than you think - it is always in the top 10 "what would you have done different" lists. And from personal experience, so much easier to build before the flock moves in rather than adding on.
