    Hi
I would love to have information on the new breed Rainbow chickens. And would like to see a photo of a full grown one if anyone has one. Thanks much. :)

Just came back from visiting an uncle in upstate NY. He has about 18 rainbow chickens. They do not all look alike. He said they're cross-breeds, which is why they each produce different colored eggs. He also has a few roosters now, so he's breeding his own, and no longer buys chicks. There were light and darker green eggs, tan, brown, and white. He says there's an occasional bluish one also. Lots of fun!

X2. My husband just came home and said a local feed store has them. Although a meat bird, they can do double duty as a layer, just not as prolific as many other breeds. They don't grow as fast as the Cornish X's and are healthier, not dying because of their genetics. They're also supposed to be good at free ranging.

I purchased 6 rainbow chicks from Rural King, they are now about 3 months old....they are very large chickens, a yellow color like an orpington....must be a meat bird

I have 6 Rainbow's and I love them, they're very friendly. Five are reddish and one a buff color, they all look a little different. They are a dual purpose bird but mine are for eggs and they lay them every day for me[IMG][IMG][IMG]

I have 10 rainbows they all look different and are very pretty they grow really quickly. The feather patterns are really cool. They aren't old enough to lay yet so don't know about eggs but I'm extremely happy with them so far.
