I have 5 Barred Rocks and 5 Buff Orpingtons that share a coop. Last year there were no problems, but after being shut in for most of the winter due to deep snow, there was one Barred in particular who was pecked on the back until it had a hole in it. I removed it, nursed it back to health and returned it to the coop one night. They beat it up again, so I removed it for a couple weeks, then got some Blue Kote, sprayed it and returned it to the roost last night.

Now they are beating it up again! Even with the Blue Kote, they've pecked and drawn blood.

Any ideas on what to do next?

Should I seperate it again? Or maybe pen it off in the chicken run, but inside a dog crate until they can all get along?

What is the best way to reintroduce an injured bird?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Quote:You can pen her off in the chicken run and keep her in the dog crate where they can all get used to each other. Make sure she has feed and freshwater.
