I noticed what i thought was dirt crusted in my Cochin's nostrils. I thought little of it until I saw her breathing through her mouth. Then i noticed that she had a hang nail type issue above her beak. Hubby helped me take some pics which revealed a bruise near her other nostril that looks like a peck. She acts normal. I didn't see blood in the pen. I want to clean her nose but I'm afraid of drowning her. What does this look like to you? Should i freak out cuz i'm freaking out. Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

Looks like a small injury. Nothing to worry about. Stuff like that happens all the time. Chickens heal quickly......Pop

Thanks for the encouragement. I'm thinking she is mouth breathing because of the gunk in her nostril..that's what I do when it happens to me. Can and how do I clean it?
