I just noticed this small gash on my chickens beak. It must have happened today. Recently. The chickens don’t tent to fight much at all but I had a chicken go broody for the first time today. Maybe she did it? This is all new to me.
What I have on hand is Neosporin, saline and Microcyn wound spray. Ginger is about 7 months old and this is our first wound 😞
Just wanted to see if anyone thought this might heal up nicely? 😭

Pictures?😉

She is eating and drinking. And is currently dust bathing. So that all seems like good signs to me. My thought is to clean it with some saline or the microcyn. I think I’ll use a a-tip since it’s so close to her nostril. Then would I just leave it alone and check daily and clean and repeat?

Honestly I probably would have just left it and let it heal up. I’ve had many chickens injure themselves on their beaks, combs, wattles, and nails that I just leave alone.🤷🏽‍♀️ As long as it’s not an open wound or on the skin I don’t mess with it. I think it should be fine. You can do all that if you want to though!😉
