Injured Chick, Can't get up, help!

Ok, we have a chick that had breathing problems and I got home and saw it limp on the brooder floor. I tried gently nudging it to see if it would get up and it did, but then shrieked in pain and laied back down. We are so worried for it. Help! It also has a little bit of poop stuck to it's butt, if that could be what's wrong. I think it got trampled by another one maybe. Sorry for my grammer, I am a little shaky right now. Please reply quick!

It seems to be breathing heavily, but it has always done that it seems like.

Try cleaning the poop off with a warm wet paper towel. I don't really know what you can do...it doesn't sound good. How old is it?

It's about a week old.

Are the eyes opened or closed? Laying on side or kind of sitting? I assume it is on the side because you said the chick is limp. If it is breathing hard, eyes closed and laying on the side you might lose it.

I'm really sorry I can't help you better. Separate it from any other chickens and clean the poop off, but other than that I don't know.

It died. It's not breathing. We got the blockage removed and then it died.

Sometimes things like this happen and it is awful. I hope your others do better.

That's good. Really sorry I couldn't help more, but this chick didn't sound very healthy. There was probably nothing you could do to save it.

I've been there and it isn't fun.
