Injured chicken! Attacked by dog!

Hello! One of my Road Island Red’s got attacked by our dog (wasn’t supposed to be out at the same time) and got a gash on the back of her neck. It doesn’t look to be too deep, but it looks like it ripped through first layer of skin and is showing underneath (???). Almost like it ripped up, instead of into the skin if that makes any sense. I’m wondering how to care for her. She’s eating/drinking and acting normal. We inspected the wound and put Vetericyn Plus on it. Is there anything else I can do to help her??

Much better! Her cut healed nicely, I kept her inside for a week so flies wouldn’t bother her. Now we are battling lice always something!

I'm glad to hear she's doing better!

Uggh! It seems creepy crawlies are prevalent this time of year. I hope you get the lice under control and all goes well.
If you need some tips on treating birds and housing for lice I believe @cmom has a chart (?) of products that are good to use.
