Hello
I have one of my chickens get injured Wednesday night. Something got into the coop. There are feathers everywhere but no blood/injuries I can see. It has just been standing with head down all day Thursday. It will drink water if I put the bowl up to it. It has just been standing like that since I found it yesterday morning. Looks like it it trying to stay awake. What should I do?

Look her over for any injuries- sometimes they can be hard to find, but look in the spots where there are feathers pulled. It may be internal, and if it is, you may need to see the vet. If you can’t do that, she may need to be put down. :(
Check her legs, head, and vent as well.

Chicken is in shock. You should immediately separate to a quiet warm place, wrap in a towel, water with electrolytes. Treat any wounds you may not have seen. I've had them recover quickly or not at all. Good luck!

Still just standing with head dropped over. It has been drinking and I made it a yogurt mixture with chicken feed mixed in. I separate from the other and been putting ointment on the neck. I found a wound on the neck.
Awe poor little thing. Well your chances are definitely better that's she's going to recover given it's been this many days. Sounds like you're doing the right things. Keep warm and put electrolytes in water. You can give Pedialyte or even Gatoraide if you don't have any. And if you have some Nutridrench when she starts to perk up, that'd be great.

Update: After a week she was just standing around with head hung over. I had to put h20/food up to it to eat. This past weekend it started lifting its head up like normal. Eating and drinking on own now. When I let the others out a few of them started to attack her. I guess I am going to need to leave separated for a while.

Does she have any flock mates/buddies that don't attack her? You could do a run separation for just a bit like when you integrate. So glad she recovered thanks to your care!!
