Injured wing - have I wrapped this correctly?

My bird has a broken or injured wing. She has been lying down, hiding under plants and I noticed her wing hanging. She is a lot more subdued than usual.

I’ve wrapped her wing in place with vet wrap. She pecked the vet wrap off overnight.

If I can’t keep it wrapped, will it matter if it heals out of place?

Is there anything else to do, apart from leave her alone? How long should I try and keep it wrapped?

Can she move it at all?

If it's broken, then likely you will need to wrap it again.
If it's sprained, sore and/or injured, then I'd leave it alone, if she were mine. I've had birds injure wings and they held them down for several days, then began to pull them back up, but that was just injury. Sort of like you favor an arm for a while until you get through the sore phase.

Thanks for your reply @Wyorp Rock. I wrapped her wing and she’s wiggled it free a second time. So I think she can move her wing if she really wants to.

It’s now hanging a bit lower, so I’m afraid she injures it further each time she fees herself.

I will let her rest it for a while, and hopefully it will improve. She seemed more vigorous in herself than yesterday.

Thanks again.

Thanks again for your advice @Wyorp Rock. As a new chicken owner, I was quite worried about her. I left her alone as you recommended, and her injury seems almost completely healed. The wing is not dragging nearly as much and she’s regained full movement 😊
