    Hi,

I assembled a smaller coop yesterday (30"x57") and wanted to put the vinyl coated wire fencing underneath it (about a 2x4 grid pattern). My wife expressed concern that this would prevent the chickens from scratching and foraging.

Anyone done this? Had any issues with it?

    Thanks!

I would bury it. It will be easier on their feet and allow them complete access to the ground while still helping keep digging predators out.

i bury fence around the outside of run. my birds really like to scratch the ground, an dig holes for dust baths inside the run. couple feet out seems to have worked for me, as any digging i have found is right up by the edges of the run (many predators where i am)

Good ideas! Hadn't thought of burying it and/or setting up a perimeter around it.

    Thanks!
