Interested in getting chickens in AZ

We are currently in the research phase of getting chickens. We live north of Phoenix and have had cats, gerbils and tried goldfish so getting livestock will be a bit of a leap.

There are eight in our family although my oldest son lives on his own and my oldest daughter is teaching in China. My husband is not very excited about getting chickens so it may take awhile but I am trying to use the time learning all I can. My youngest daughter is excited about getting chickens and is helping do research.

We have enjoyed reading some of the information available on BYC.

Hi from Wickenburg, AZ. We got our chickens in March and have been enjoying them ever since. Kept us busy for a while tho building their permanent home, etc. We usually let them out of their pen every evening and sit out with them while they entertain us. Have fun, Ed
