Interesting that Baytril is to be administered orally as well after the first treatment - has anyone ever done this?
Yes and no... In cats, I give it subcutaneously with a small bolus of fluids to help avoid the injection site problems that are sometimes seen with it. In birds, I almost always give it orally, but sometimes I'll give the first dose IM if the bird looks really sick.
Here is some dosing info:
ok, so then under Route, does PO mean oral?
Yes, PO means by mouth.
You're welcome... Did you figure out how much you would dose an adult with? Bayer used to have a Baytril calculator, but I can't find it now. FWIW, my vet told me to give 15mg/kg once a day, either subcutaneously, or my mouth,
No, I haven't had time to weigh any of them, plus I haven't got any product yet. My cousin is a vet, but is on mat leave till next June, so I'll have to wait till then. So far Tylan is doing the job.
