This article is in this morning's Salt Lake Tribune.

It's about how popular it's becoming in Salt Lake to have a few laying hens in the back yard. A local non-profit called Wasatch Community Gardens had a lecture on urban chicken-raising on Wednesday and yesterday they had a "Tour de Coop" so that people could visit back-yard poultry set-ups and get ideas for their own.

Thanks for sharing that article ..interesting how many of us are seeing the benefit of having our own chickens.. eggs.. etc.

Now I must ask, what kind of "rat" do you have with your two chickens? (from your signature [IMG] ) Just wondering if it is the same as the ones I have here [IMG]

The rat I mention in my signature is a very obese, very spoiled, very sweet domesticated rat who lives in a cage in my house. I try not to associate with the ones out in my yard. [IMG]

I'm glad to know I'm not the only one with very spoiled fatty chunkas that live in my house ...and no, not the pesty kind outside! I have a few more than ONE, though [IMG]
