This may have been posted here before, but for those who haven't seen it, I thought some might find it interesting reading. Scroll down to almost halfway to read about a method for feeding chickens during the winter to encourage egg-laying.

What a neat story. I love to hear how people used to live. They seemed much happier than people today, don't you think?

Glad you enjoyed it. There is a lot more reading on the site, and they just worked so hard without complaining, it seems.

Haha, we killed the page! It tells me that it's down for maintenance or because of capacity problems! I love reading things from the Depression.

I can't remember where I found this, but this is a link to Depression recipes by a 90 something year old. Very fun to watch, she's a hoot. Very family friendly cooking video.

Oh the good ol'days, what a good way to end the night with a great read like that. Kind of mellows the soul a little.
