Introduced 1 week old X-rocks with other chickens

Introduced 28 x-rock chicks to my other 9 egg layers and absolutely nothing happened. The older chickens were actually scared of the little bittys.

I've read so many horror stories about introducing chicks but my experience was totally uneventful.

How old are the chicks and how do you ensure they are eating the chick feed and not the layer feed? I'm glad to hear it went well.

Chicks are 1-week old and everyone eats the same food.

I should have stated this in my previous post but everyone eats Purina starter/grower. I haven't switched the hens to the layer and I don't think I will, at least based on what I'm seeing now.
