Hi,
I like to free range my chickens during the day. But we also have a cat and he likes to go outside for most of the day. Our cat loves attacking anything that moves, so I have never really tried to introduce him to my chickens 'cause I am worried of what he might do. But, it becomes frustrating trying to keep the cat in when the chickens are outside and vise versa. I have seen our cat walk up to the chicken run and the chickens will come over looking curious and if our cat gets super close to the chicken wire the chickens sometimes peck and he jumps back!
Do y'all have any suggestions for how to introduce a cat to chickens??? I could try to borrow a rooster from a friend. Would that help? I am going to get two more hens this spring or summer. Should I try to introduce our cat when there are more hens?
Thanks so much,
Zoë
