I took the rooster out of my two flocks I was putting together and now there is peace among the hens, no fighting but they do stay separate..............one group of 5 barred rocks and a group of 6 mixed.

when they become more at ease with each other could I introduce a young barred rock rooster to the whole flock of 11 and not have problems? never done this before.

Adding a rooster may very well go even more smoothly than merging your two flocks. Older hens may make life rough for a cockerel, but a mature rooster should be able to hold his own.
