What would happen if I introduced baby chicks to a group of 8 older hens (no rooster) - would they accept them or not? I would like to phase in the next generation as my hens are getting older but certainly do not want any chicks to suffer if they are not accepted.

    Thank you,

Quote:I am dealing with this same delima I chose to have my broody hen hatch them so the new babies would possibly fit in a lil easier. If u do not have a broody It is hard to say I had 3 mon olds and bought 4 older hens and they mixed fine but the older girls were new to the place to so I think that helped them.

    Good Luck
