Hi, I'm new to this group and newer to owning chickens. I currently have 3 hens and 2 roosters and am being offered 4 more hens. (I didn't realize I had two roosters until recently) All my chickens get along, they are about 6-7 months old (silkies). If I get the new hens, which are about 3 months old, how would I introduce them? And is this a good idea?

Hello there, and welcome to Backyard chickens! All the links CTKen gave you are good ones. I also strongly recommend you quarantine the new chickens before you add them to your existing flock to make sure they are not sickly birds. I hope you enjoy BYC as much as I have!

Welcome to Backyard chickens. You have received good info on introducing new birds. Three month old silkies are really too young to sex accurately, so hope you get the gender you want.
