I got my chickens today. I got 4 different breeds, Americana, Silver laced Wyandotte, Rhode Island red, and leg horn cross. I am very excited to raise them as it has been a dream to have chickens for myself and my youngest son.

Congratulations! It's always so exciting getting those first chickens. Raising chickens is a wonderful experience for children. My granddaughter (pictured in my avatar) loves our chickens.

Welcome to BYC! [IMG]I'm glad you joined us.

It sounds like you have a nice little flock! I've really enjoyed my Wyandottes in particular; they've been sweet, docile, very inquisitive, excellent egg layers, and quite hardy. My Americana has also been a good egg layer and gentle chicken.[IMG]
