Is 80 degrees fahrenheit a good temperature for 3 week old chicks?

So today we got 6 3 week (or so) old rhode island red chicks. The room they are in is about 80 degrees. My mom says we can't put on their infrared bulb, but will they be ok at that temperature? Also, what do happy chicks sound like?

At this point, 80 degrees is fine, since they have begun to feather out, just make sure it doesn't get any cooler. Here is a link to happy and unhappy chick sounds

I would agree. 80 degrees should be fine but your chicks will tell you if they are cold so just be attentive to them.

Good luck with the babies and enjoy.

lets try again
that's muuuch better, lol, sorry about that first vid, I don't know how that happened

Much better. Thanks for the video. I always wondered what an unhappy vs happy chick sounded like. Although as I played the video both of my dogs ran up to the phone to watch and listen. I should have recorded that because that cracked me up too.
