    They can be, but I dont belive Ill ever pay anything close to that for one. Although Id love to sell some for that.

    There are buyers who will pay for a good bird.

    My BigRed is worth far more than $70 to me.

    i bought my whole flock for that. mine of course are just a backyard mix....but holy cow! i got 42 chickens for $90

    It's worth whatever someone is willing to pay for it, whether or not your or I think it is worthy.

    i have roo's worth that much,, shoot, most my roos make me $70 in a week... times that by 1 year,,, i also have game birds worth WAY more then that.

    A friend who was helping me get into show poultry, gave me a rooster that he had earlier turned down $100.00 for!

    Adult Silkie roos from championship lines are typically $50++ so he's probably worth it.
