Is butchering Ducks Like Butchering Chickens???

    Boy are they going threw alot of food now.... But How can I tell they are old enough to butcher? Should I look for a certain weight?? Will they be fully feathered??

    Is it the same at butchering a chicken...

    I want to have duck for easter... I know we are getting close....

    I usually butcher my pekins at 8-12wks and muscovies after 12wks.

    I'll butcher the biggest two for easter. They will be exactly 8 weeks on the wednesday before. I'll wait a month for the rest.


    Is it like butchering a chicken???

    yes, but a lot messier. At 8wks I usually have to skin the ducks. I've heard that a little dawn in the scalder will help get the feathers off easier. Good luck!​
