Hello. We have been trying for a couple of months to figure out if Elizabeth, the barred rock, is a roo or hen. She is 4 months old. She has not crowed and she is not growing any spurs.

We have a roo named Foghorn (we didn't name him) who is 5-6 months old and has been crowing for some time and has nice size spurs. He acts very much like a roo and has been a great asset to have.

They are all in the same pen with a fairly large yard. Elizabeth has been bossy in her short life, but she/he does not fight with Foghorn.

    What is your opinion?

Thank you so much for your help

Looks like cockerel, though I am not sure it is a pure barred Rock.

We were afraid of that. So far they are getting along. Hopefully that will continue. Im curious why you dont think Elizabeth is not a purebred? I dont care either way, but would like to learn more.
