Is he a rooster?

I got these sliver lace Feb 23rd which were suppose to be pullets but I'm thinking the one with the stubby tail feathers is a roo??

Rose combs are tricky. Right now, it looks like two possible pullets and two possible cockerels. But that could change in a few weeks.

It's still early to be certain. But I'd guess pic #1 is a cockerel and pic #3 is a pullet. The other two are tougher to guess on at this point. In a few weeks things should be more clear.

The first one is the one I think is a roo, the other 3 have the same tail feathers.

Tail feather aren't good for determining sex. At this age it's mainly about the comb, wattles, thickness of legs, and feather pattern.

I thought I read some where that roo tail feathers develop slower the hens? #1 is the only one with short tail feathers, the other 3 tails are all the same.

I've heard that but don't believe it to be true, from my experience. In any case it is going to take a while longer to know for sure. Try again when they're 7 or 8 weeks.

I've also heard that, but my three brahmas had all different feathering when they were babies... and they are all girls.

All 4 were pulled from a pullet bin, and I', pretty sure there's only one cockerel. The one I think is, has a short tail feathers, and wattles that are bigger then the other 3.

Anything that is red, is a cockerel, at this age
