Is his crop distended? picture

I have a nice, blue Orpington rooster that suddenly seems to have a much bigger crop than I have ever seen. I am worried. He is still acting normally and eating. I picked him up and felt it. It feels like it is full of gravel, feed, etc. Is that normal? It isn't squishy but it kind of crunches when I massage it. Anyway, here are some pictures of him I just took:

It's full certainly. Can you check it early in the morning before he eats, see if it's gone down? It's very possible he just filled up before bedtime.

It's normal to be able to feel what he's been eating.
