is it normal for a chick to fall asleep instantly after picking her up

    she does this everytime. is it like a technique like the possom where he plays dead?

    Well... depends on the birds normal behavior and age. Young chicks can fall asleep in hands because it is warm. Or if this is the only chick, because it finally feels safe.
