I went to feed the quail this afternoon and one of the females was soaking wet, I was kinda looking around wondering what she had got into. Then when I was feeding the chicks I seen her hop into the water dish and start water bathing like a chicken dust bathes! She was getting water everywhere! [IMG] Is this a common quail thing?

When I had chick waterers for the juveniles, they used the waterer as a fountain to play in! So I would say yes, it is normal [IMG]

  3. My coturnix think the waterer is their personal pond. You would think they are ducks as much as they are in the water.

My quail splash it around and I have a buff orp. that uses it as a pool.

Quote:I'm going to say yes too, and add...It's a potty as well.

I so love when they drink from the (UNPOTTY) founts!!

I have enough mess to clean up after the ducklings and goslings start playing in their water [IMG] It was cute though
