NO! After day 18 is lockdown. Keep the bator closed until they start to hatch.

How long have they been peeping? They usually take a few hours to progress from pipping internally (when you can hear them peeping) to pipping externally, through the shell. It is safe to candle the eggs now, if you want to have a look, but give them as much time as possible before intervening.

You are in lock down and day 22 I would say keep a closer eye on
them but until you see some kind of peeping and then if you want
to jump in that will all be up to you but if you are going to do that
have a water squirt bottle to keep things damp as egg yoke tends
to dry fast and a squirt of warm water will help to keep it from
    drying out .......

Once the shell is open the inner membrane can dry out quickly, trapping, or "shrink wrapping" the chick inside the egg. What you can do to prevent that is to bump the humidity in the incubator up to 65% or higher and keep it there. A damp towel or sponge can help with that. If I'm in a rush or need to get the humidity up quick, I wet some kitchen roll or tissue paper and put that in there, works like a charm.

If you are hearing peeping already then you are just about finished [IMG]

Welcome to BYC! It sounds like you have an early bird. It should hatch within in the next 24 hours, if all goes well.
