My 23 chickens are squabbling a LOT lately. Really fighting. Chasing each other for several loops around the run. Pulling out huge bunches of feathers. This is in addition to the boys chasing the girls, which the girls really don't seem to appreciate one bit. My group is all 21 weeks old and still has 50% boys. So, is it just that I've got way too many roos or is it that the shorter days and/or cooler weather has them all riled up?

It the roosters. I have 2 in with my pullets and the fighting was all the time so I have moved the roosters into seperate pens with each getting some pullets and the pens are much calmer.

Yes, the roos. It must be mayhem there.

It is likely to be the roos. Oh my! 50-50 ? Must be like a war zone in there !

Yeah, thought so. Guess it's time to make some adjustments.
