    Hi,

I was thinking about getting some silkies for brooding and I heard that they have four toes? Is that true?

I just didn't want to get some and think they were deformed or something! LOL That would be funny... in a way. [IMG]

    Thank you,

They have 5 toes on each foot. Most birds only have 4.

I have had Silkies with as many as seven toes on one leg. They should have five but they can have even more!

Cool! Thanks guys ( and gals -just a figure of speech)! I don't need them to be SQ, I just want really good brooders... And I've heard that they are the best!

yep, if that's your goal, cant beat them, cochins are a good choice as well, those two breeds are the tops for brooders
