Just curious about the colors because they seem the same to me. Is the lighter buff just called Lemon? If Lemon is different From Buff where does Lemon come from?

Yes it is the same, Lemon Barred ( Lemon Cuckoo) is the same as Buff Barred. Like with my project Lemon Cuckoo Orpingtons, I am callin them Lemon Cuckoo instead of Buff Barred just becuase they are called Lemon Cuckoo in the UK, but they could be called Buff Barred as well. They are lighter because barring dilutes what ever color it is on a little.

Isn't the Cuckoo different from Barred?I thought the Cuckoo barring is muted where the Barred is more distinct.

Quote:It is the same gene, it just has to do with the rate of feathering, rapid feathering makes the barring blurred or muted as you said and slow feathering allows the barring to be more distinct and crisp.
