Maisie has a pink beak, blue legs but the toes are pink on the end.

Her body is blue but around her neck is all light pink, around her eyes is blue. She has 5 toes, fluffy legs and fluffy feathers like a silkie. She is also pure white and her face does look silkie to me.

What do people think? It is the pink colouring on her body and beak that has me guessing?

Yes, my thoughts too ... Ah well ... Seems all my silkies apart from the black one I got from a proper poultry farm are silkie Xs. Never mind, they are lovely birds ... I won't ever adopt from a random person again though, I've learnt my lesson!

I have a pile of silkie crosses and they are very nice chickens,...I actually like them better than my pure silkies. The best ones I like are my silkie/cochin crosses. They are the sweetest birds. You should be very proud of her,..she is a very nice looking gal,..plus she did get the silkie feathering,..thats a plus.

yes, I've learned to just back away from anything I think is not up to my expectations. I have some silkies that I think might be crosses now that you mention--just not that fluffy in spots. Oh well. they are still very sweet and I couldn't buy just one sister and leave the rest--they looked so shocked when I picked up my choice! I'm such a patsy!!! ha! If you have chickens just because, then you really shouldn't feel bad if they look peculiar. I mean, I'm not that perfect either and my hubby still married me! oh well. If you're wanting to breed nice chickens, then I see your point. You may have to have two flocks that don't co-mingle.
I was very careful the last time I looked for a silkie and got one so fluffy, I have to trim her huge topknot so she can see! She has been accepted into my mottley flock and is clearly the most perfect silkie yet. I intend for my pet chickens to be silkies from now on, but can't buy any more till we move someplace more rural.
Looking close to DFW area in Texas for 3-11 acres of nice flat land so I can have enough hens to maybe sell eggs at a farmer's market on weekends. Anybody know of anything???? Want to stay in texas!
