    Hello!

Our two Speckled Sussex are about 9 months old and are molting. Is this too early? Is this a sign of physical distress?

Will we need to supplement heat for them here in the Houston, TX area where it gets down into the 20s and 30s at night during the winter?

I am really concerned about this. Thanks for your help!

No, its not unusual for them to molt at this age, and no you don't need to supplement heat - they are built to survive the cold. In Houston, I would be far more concerned about keeping them cool in the summer.
