I can tell by the tail it has shine on it! Bit people have there different way of telling rooster from a hen! And on some other ways you can tell by the comb, saddled feathers, and tail that is what I look for but even some I get stumped on!

You can also tell by the crest feathers! Here is a pic of one of my polish hens who is 14 weeks old now. As you can see the crest is more round but just like @CaliFarmsAR said there are different ways to tell
