okay so my chicken seems to look older than my others and has the shiny pointy feathers but doesnt act like a roo at all. What gender is it? It is about 16-18 weeks old and has never crowed. It is a Splattered orington nifvvEe4

Hello! A photo may help us determine what you have. If it does have shiny/pointy saddle feathers, it should be a rooster.

is there such thing as a quite rooster because mine has never crowed.

might not have crowed yet.We have a white leghorn that does a quiet crow.We call him "Flats" because he is seen around the yard when he relaxes,he lays completly flat on the ground..head and all.but he a sweet boy!
