Is my silkie broody? She has been pulling out a a few of her feathers and putting them in the nesting box for the past couple days. Today she has started going in the nesting box and no coming out. If I try to pet her for to long she tries to peck me. I gave her a store bought egg to see what she would do, within 10 minutes the egg was up under her. Is she broody?

If she's still producing eggs, she's not fully broody yet.

Sometimes girls just like to spend more time on the nest while laying than others. I've got one that sits for 2 hours prior to laying and then sits for another hour or so after laying.

That sounds about right for her :) I was thinking, man I don't think it's time for her to go broody. She just started laying about a week ago. :D
