Is my cochin bantam considered mottled ?

    I'm pretty sure she is a silver laced bantam cochin. Her so pretty !!! I love the markings so much .

    Mottled are black with scattered white flecks. Your girl is laced, black with silver running down the center of each feather.

    Silver laced ? To me it looks white lol

    So I was right , after I looked up mottled I noticed she wasn't that but silver laced

    Chicken genetics are a bit tricky. There are several genes that turn off pigments, producing a white appearance. Silver is just one such gene. There is also Dominant White and Recessive White, and Barring/Cuckoo and Mottling to a lesser extent. It's complicated.

    Thanks I love her coloring . She is a bantam and at a month old still so tiny how big do they get?
