My hen has started sitting in the corner and picking up bits of bedding from around her and looks as though she is trying to cover herself or make a nest is this a sign of her going broody, she is still laying and in with another hen and a cockerel,

I'm new to the broody thing but my hens would try to cover themselves even before they were definitley broody. They would also scream like a little banshee if I tried to move them. lol!

My hens cover themselves with bits of shavings all of the time, but they were not broody.

I would just watch her for about a week or so, when my broody was getting ready she sat in her nest for longer periods of time everyday and she quit laying. She too would squawk alot...
