Is my lavender silkie a rooster or hen. Definitely has a large comb but no waddle.

Hello all, my 4 silkies are about 4.5 - 5 months old now and I hear crowing but cannot figure out which one is doing it. Do you think my lavender splash silkie is a male. I really hope not because he/she is the sweetest one out of the 4. And cutest!

He has a much larger comb then the other 3 chickens, but he has no waddle at all. I tried to compare the spurs but they all feel the same. Just a little nub.

I had to give away the below two silkies because I definitely caught them crowing. And they really look like roosters. I'm afraid my lavender is a rooster because the comb's are very similar in size.

Thanks he/she is so pretty :( Aww bummer. Are there not any silkies that are hens w/ bigger combs like this? My wyandotte hen has a rather large comb! I'm still hoping this little guy is actually a girl :(

Ok... it's a girl in opposite drag. That crowing you are hearing, she's faking it, trying to act all manly. LOL.

No really, IT IS A GIRL! AND I sure could use a girl like that with my girls... HEHE.

Sorry, I am in agreement, a boy. A bearded boy isn't going to have the same wattle development really as a non bearded...

This guy below is Roger, he'd been attacked by a hawk, and was really scalped good. Anyway, I am posting so you can see, he's a bearded silkie, full grown, no wattles there at all.
This is what he looked like with his full crest, no wattles but a nice walnut comb

Liela and Roger... Both full grown, you see NO comb really at all on her, but you can still see his in his profile. They are both the same age by the way...

These next birds are not mine, but I posted them so you can see what a non bearded pair look like
    [IMG]The boy has visable wattles.
